Earlier starting time for Annual Meeting

We are concerned that we will lose natural light during our Annual Meeting on October 7 so we need to start earlier.  Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will start shortly after that.

Due to the pandemic, our Annual meetings have either been canceled or delayed.  We are planning to have our Annual Meeting on October 7, 2021 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Please bring your own chair!  

One agenda item is to vote for Board positions.  Currently we have two vacated positions and a third position also requires a vote.  Please attend so we can achieve a quorum and have a full Board again.  

Please consider running for a Board position.  It is important we have a full Board. If you'd like more information, please email us at bod@hickorypointesub.com

Finally, the pool will be closing Tuesday, September 7 2021.

After many years, and the last original Board member - Michelle Anzaldi is stepping down from our Board. She will continue to assist with the Bylaws and as needed.  We thank her for her enormous contributions and efforts!  She has been irreplaceable in many matters the Board has faced.

This now leaves us with TWO vacant seats!  Please, please, please consider stepping up and helping us out.  We don't want to burn out those of us who are remaining. :)  It also is very important to have Board members who represent our community.  We love the diversity in our subdivision and would love similar diversity on our Board.

Pool is now Open. (June 7, 2021)

The pool is open. Unless otherwise posted at the pool, please follow Pool Rules.  Use your key card for entrance. If you need a key card or have an issue with your key card, please contact Select Management (our Property Management company) at www.thecondopros.com - 734.663.1900- Jeff Dobbs is assigned to our subdivision (make sure you reference Village of Hickory Pointe as they manage many properties).  

If you are at the pool, please help us by wiping down frequently used surfaces throughout the day.  The HOA will provide wipes in pool areas for volunteers to wipe down high-touch areas and / or a spray bottle of disinfectant, paper towels, and a trash can. High touch surfaces include: door handles, gate latches, keyless entry readers, lock boxes, handrails, pool ladders, and restrooms (door handles, faucets, sinks, toilets, towel dispensers, baby changing stations and light switches).

Pool Status - Monday - June 7 -

Hello Neighbors - We did not pass the County Inspection on Friday.  There was a required repair which happened over the weekend.  Apparently there were some unauthorized swimmers in the pool over the weekend and now the pool is "cloudy".  We are trying to get the pool back in correct chemical balance and hoping for the County to re-inspect the pool today but do not have a time or confirmation.  

We will post an announcement as soon as we know.  Please - no one should be in or near the pool until it is open!  This is very important.

 A big thank you to our Board Member  (President) - Laurie Massie! The amount of work, organizing and problem solving to get the pool opened is always a huge job but this year it has been much more challenging.  If you see Laurie out and about - maybe buy her a soda pop (or something.... ;)  ).

Update - Pool, Vacant Board Seat and May Minutes

1) Minutes from the May 2021 meeting have been posted in the HOA Meeting Mins / 2021 folder.  The July 3, 2021 meeting has been canceled.  Next meeting is August 5, 2021 via Zoom.  If you'd like to attend, please email the Board at bod@hickorypointesub.com 

2) There is a vacated Board seat that the Board would like to fill with an appointment.  This appointment would exist until our next Annual meeting when homeowners can indicate their preference via their vote.  However, COVID guidelines/ mandate still prohibit a large indoor meeting of this nature and we do need to fill this seat in the meantime. If you are interested in being on the Board or learning more about this, please email the Board at bod@hickorypointesub.com

3) We are working very hard to target Monday, June 7 for the pool to open!!  Besides going through many checklists, still running after the inspection and being challenged by some technology issues - we are crossing our fingers and hoping all goes well.  We will keep you posted.

Pool Update - May 27, 2021

The hot water heater was fixed this week.  Now we are waiting on the County to give us an inspection date.  We are targeting the pool to open next week but the County inspection is required.

Homeowners should be receiving a letter in the mail soon referencing guidelines dated May 3, 2021.  Given recent changes from the Governor's office, we do not know if new guidelines are forthcoming.  So for now, we are guided by the May 3 guidelines, which the letter is referencing.

These are confusing times but we are juggling all of it and targeting the opening of the pool asap!

Pool Update -- :( (May 20, 2021)

In order for the pool to open, the pool and the building/ bathrooms must meet a set of requirements which the County reviews during it's inspection.  The County inspection was scheduled for next week....until the hot water heater broke.  Having hot water is one of the County requirements in order to pass the inspection.  So, the inspection has been canceled and we are working on getting the hot water heater fixed.

Sigh.... we are working hard and trying our best.

Spray for ticks? Please weigh in.

We recently had a homeowner share their dog came back from the common area in their backyard with a tick.  The homeowner requested we consider spraying common areas for ticks.  Ticks have been increasing in numbers over the years and the more there are, the more they reproduce.  Brief research indicates they lay their eggs in the spring.  

The Board requested our Property Management get us a quote and some information.  We received the quote and the chemical they would use is "Crosscheck", manufactured by Lesco.  This is the link to the product page:  Lesco Crosscheck EZ Granular Insecticide - Lesco, Inc. - | Greenbook  

We have yet to make a decision and wondered if any homeowners have any wishes/ concerns/ thoughts on this?  We would appreciate feedback.  I think you can post comments to announcements here or you can email the Board at bod@hickorypointesub.com .  Thank you in advance, your feedback is important to us.
